A candlelit vigil is taking place this evening at the scene of Saturday’s fire in Carrickmines in which ten people were killed.
It comes as 15 survivors of the blaze on the Glenamuck Road are being prevented from accessing a temporary accommodation site close to the scene by residents who are mounting a blockade.
The locals claim the site is unsuitable, and they are due to meet Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for the second time tomorrow morning to discuss the situation.
Geraldine Dunne from the Southside Traveller Action Group says she is overwhelmed by the public’s outpouring of support for the victims and their families.
She says it has been a landmark moment for relations between travellers and the settled community.
"I would say it has never been seen before and it is very much welcomed and I think it's fantastic to see and I think it has brought the traveller and settled community together, unfortunately, under these hard circumstances."
