Trocaire appeals to Govt to help Third World debt

Trocaire is asking the Government to increase its support for the cancellation of Third World debt.

Trocaire is asking the Government to increase its support for the cancellation of Third World debt.

The call comes as the President of the World Bank meets the Taoiseach in Dublin.

Trocaire estimates that total debt cancellation for up to ten of the world's poorest countries could increase economic growth by enough to give them then opportunity to halve poverty by 2015.
