Children in care to receive Xmas cash bonus

All children in foster and residential care are to receive a special bonus payment from the Government in order to give them a happier Christmas, it was confirmed today.

All children in foster and residential care are to receive a special bonus payment from the Government in order to give them a happier Christmas, it was confirmed today.

Minister of State Brian Lenihan said he was delighted to help around 4,500 children have a happier festive season.

Mr Lenihan announced that the approximate 4,000 children in foster care would each receive €107, while the 500 in residential care would receive a special payment of €127 each.
