Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery in Malahide.

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery in Malahide.

Two members of staff of a licensed premises were held at gunpoint in their car on St Margaret's Avenue as they were on their way to make a bank lodgement at approximately 2.20am this morning.

A man took a sum of money, and forced the two men out of the car, which he then used to make his escape.

The car was later found on the back road in Malahide.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 2am and 4am this morning to contact them.
