Gardaí arrest man after attempted ATM robbery

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of an ATM machine from a shop in Dublin.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of an ATM machine from a shop in Dublin.

At around 3.30am this morning three men armed with a sledgehammer entered the premises and threatened a staff member.

The men tried but failed to remove the cash machine.

Two of the men fled when gardaí arrived at the scene, while the third is being questioned at Store Street garda station.
