Gardai are now treating the discovery of a nun’s body in Co Monaghan as murder.

Gardai are now treating the discovery of a nun’s body in Co Monaghan as murder.

Gardai have now established the last movements of the woman.

The nun left the convent between 7am and 8am yesterday morning and stood at the convent gate waiting for a bus.

Her bags were later found at the gate.

Her body was found in a laneway adjacent to the convent about 200 yards away.

Gardai have set up an incident room in Ballybay Garda Station and want to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity between 7am and 8pm yesterday morning.
