Coldplay singer Chris Martin is “incredibly talented”, says pop queen Madonna.
She reveals her admiration for friend Gwyneth Paltrow’s partner in an interview with Jo Whiley to be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow morning.
Asked if she approves of “Gwyneth’s new man” she says: “Yeah he’s great! I think he’s incredibly talented.”
The programme will also feature live tracks performed by Madonna at HMV London at the end of last week.
Quizzed about her inspirations, Madonna says: “Women that I really looked up to when I was first starting out were Debbie Harry and Chrissie Hynde. I thought they were really strong. I loved their sense of irony, which I think is missing from pop music right now.”
She says she is happier in the UK now than before.
Asked if she misses her friends when in London, she says: “You know what, I used to get really lonely when I first came over here.
"I used to get lonely and sad and complain a lot to Guy (Ritchie, her husband) but I’ve got friends here now, some really nice friends now, so it’s kind of cool because I see them when I come here and I see my other friends when I go there.”
