26-year-old fights for life after Dublin hotel attack

A man was fighting for his life today after being attacked inside a city centre hotel.

A man was fighting for his life today after being attacked inside a city centre hotel.

The man, 26, was set upon by a number of men in the Abbey Hotel in Middle Abbey Street, central Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Investigating gardaí said he received serious head injuries during the assault at about 2am.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital, in the north inner city, where his condition is described as critical.

Gardaí at Store Street have appealed for witnesses.
