A man was shot this morning as he sat in a car in Northern Ireland.

A man was shot this morning as he sat in a car in Northern Ireland.

The 26-year-old victim was treated in hospital following the attack in Bushmills, Co Antrim, just after 6am, police said.

At least one shot was fired from a shotgun before the gunman ran off from the scene at Hazeldene Drive into Esdale Park.

The victim’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and police do not suspect a sectarian motive.
