Gardaí have arrested two men and seized a quantity of drugs in an operation in Ballinsloe, Co Galway.

Gardaí have arrested two men and seized a quantity of drugs in an operation in Ballinsloe, Co Galway.

As part of a planned operation, gardaí searched a house at Kilgarve Court in Ballinsloe and discovered 120 cannabis plants as well as a quantity of harvested cannabis.

The drugs, subject to analysis may have a street value of €100,000.

Two men in their 30s were arrested at the scene and are detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ballinasloe and Loughrea garda stations.

They can be detained for up to seven days.
