The Road To Perdition stars Tom Hanks, Jude Law and Paul Newman and is directed by Sam Mendes.

Overall, American critics like the film, with many considering it as a possible Oscar contender.

The New York Times says: "It inspires a continuing and deeply satisfying awareness of the best movies as monumental 'picture shows.'"

The film is a "rock-solid gangster movie with a fair amount of suspense, intriguing characters and bizarre bank robberies, plus a heavy dose of father-and-son dynamics," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
