Air-traffic controllers at Dublin Airport have postponed their unofficial industrial action pending the outcome of fresh talks at the Labour Relations Commission this week.
The controllers have been refusing to work overtime as part of a protest against what they say are chronic staff shortages.
The action has already disrupted dozens of flights at Dublin Airport and forced the diversion of around 30 planes during a one hour period on Friday night.
The IMPACT trade union says no new controllers have been recruited by the Irish Aviation Authority since 2001 and the service only continues because existing staff are constantly required to do overtime and work their rest days.
