The Taoiseach today insisted that he and his government ministers would accept their recommended pay rises.

A number of ministers expressed concern over the weekend, following negative feedback from the public regarding the salary increases.

Under the recommendations, the Taoiseach will get a hike of €38,000, taking his annual salary up to €310,000.

“The government have made a decision on it, it will be implemented over the next two years and that's it!” the Taoiseach said today.
