Gardaí have arrested eight people in connection with a series of burglaries in Dun Laoghaire today.

Gardaí have arrested eight people in connection with a series of burglaries in Dun Laoghaire today.

Officers from the Detective Units, Crime Task Force and Drugs units have recovered jewellery, clothing, computer and electronic equipment and a car.

This morning, Gardaí searched houses in Tallaght and Wicklow and arrested seven men, aged from 19 to 23, and a 21-year-old woman.

Two of the men and the woman were arrested on foot of bench warrants and will appear before Dun Laoghaire and Tallaght District Courts today.

The rest are being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, as amended, at Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum and Blackrock Garda stations.
