GRA branches vote in favour of 'blue flu' industrial action threat

A number of branches of the Garda Representative Association have voted in favour of 'blue flu' industrial action if garda pay is cut.

The GRA, which represents rank-and-file members of the force, has refused to engage in talks over any new Croke Park deal which involves reductions in salary.

Last night, votes were held in the Dublin Metropolitan Region North, Cork North and Tipperary with motions passed in favour of industrial action.

The motions will now be discussed in detail at the GRA's national executive on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
