First Lady of France releases album
Carla Bruni, the supermodel singer who is married to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, released her latest album today, and the first since she took up residence in the Elysee Palace.
The title of the 14-track album is revealing: 'Comme si de rien n’etait' (As If Nothing Had Happened).
Pictures show the top model turned singer – who married Mr Sarkozy in February - walking by a lake in a woodland scene.
The 40-year-old has become a popular first lady but it remains to see if her third album be a hit like the first in 2002, which sold two million copies, or a flop like the 2006 follow-up.
Sales were thin this morning at Virgin Megastore on the Champs-Elysees, but one customer says he did not buy the album for the name.
“I think it is the artist who is more interesting,” says Eric Gardner de Beville.
