Book of condolences to be opened for school siege victims

A book of condolences will be opened at the Mansion House, Dawson Street at lunchtime today to allow people to register their sympathy for the victims of the school siege in Beslan.

A book of condolences will be opened at the Mansion House, Dawson Street at lunchtime today to allow people to register their sympathy for the victims of the school siege in Beslan.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Michael Conaghan, said: "We all prayed for those who were caught up in the school siege in Beslan. The horror of this shocking atrocity has touched us all and our thoughts and prayers are with those families whose lives have been devastated.

"To mark the Russian days of mourning, a book of condolences has been opened in the Mansion House."

Visitors to the Mansion House on Dawson Street will be able to sign the book of condolences from today from noon until 6pm, and on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am until 6pm.
