Munster coach Declan Kidney has mounting injury problems as he prepares to name his team for Saturday’s Celtic League final against rivals Leinster.
Kidney has already been forced to rule out Irish internationals David Wallace, John Hayes and Rob Henderson from the selection equation but he also has several first-teamers receiving medical treatment.
The main concern is hooker Frank Sheahan who is rated as doubtful after picking up a groin strain in last Saturday’s 15-9 semi-final victory against Ulster at Lansdowne Road.
Scrum-half Peter Stringer is still having problems with an ankle injury that forced him to miss the quarter-final win over Llanelli a fortnight ago.
He did face Ulster on Saturday but could not stand on his ankle following the match.
Winger John Kelly received six stitches in a head wound as a result of the bruising encounter while full-back Dominic Crotty is still nursing the effects of cramp having returned to the side after a long injury lay-off.
