Bus Eireann has cancelled all buses in and out of Dublin on the NI, N2 and N3 until further notice due to the gridlock caused by overnight rain and flooding.

A spokesman for the company said inward bound buses are currently stuck in tailbacks on these roads and it would be pointless to allow further buses to also get bogged down in the traffic.

All other Bus Eireann services are experiencing delays of up to two hours because of the knock-on effect of traffic problems in Dublin and surrounding counties.
