A 23-year-old woman has been killed in a crash in Co Meath.

A 23-year-old woman has been killed in a crash in Co Meath.

The woman died when the car she was driving went out of control and crashed into a ditch on the M51 at Curleyland, Athboy, at 3.15am this morning.

No other vehicle was involved.

The woman's body has been removed to Navan General Hospital.

The road has been closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

She is the second person to die on the roads this bank holiday weekend.

On Saturday night, a 25-year-old woman was killed in a crash near Athenry in Co Galway.
