Madonna: I paved the way for Miley

Madonna thinks she "paved the way" for Miley Cyrus.

The 'Living for Love' hitmaker voluntarily "objectified" herself when she was younger by releasing a book featuring intimate photographs of herself and sees no reason why the 'We Can't Stop' singer shouldn't be able to do a similar thing on social media.

She said: "I paved the way. I love Miley. I'm happy to have opened the gates for all those girls. Image is a big part of our world. Men aren't repressed the way women are.

"I objectified myself with my sex book. That's what Miley is doing now. It's a matter of taste."

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old singer also opened up about working with Kanye West and admitted she felt as though she had to "compete" with his wife Kim Kardashian West for his attention.

In a clip from ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show, as obtained by the Daily Mirror, she said: "Kanye is definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to music. He always has unusual and unique ideas. I am glad I worked with him.

"He does want to create a fashion empire so I had to compete with the fashion and with Kim. And he has a baby. There are a lot of things going on with him. Whilst he was multitasking I was marching around with my clipboard saying let's finish the song and we did in the end."
