The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said the Government will decide this week what form of investigation will take place into the 1970’s Arms Trial.

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said the Government will decide this week what form of investigation will take place into the 1970’s Arms Trial.

Mr Ahern’s statement follows weeks of speculation about the trial and the involvement of the then Minister for Justice, Des O’Malley.

Speaking at the annual Fianna Fáil commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising, the Taoiseach also revealed that a report on the new allegations was being compiled.
