An MRBI opinion poll in Donegal north-east has predicted that Fianna Fail will retain its two seats in the constituency in the upcoming general election.

The poll, carried out for TG4, predicts 25% support for Jim McDaid and 22% support for Cecilia Keaveney, meaning the pair should retain their seats comfortably.

Fine Gael’s Sean Moloney and Bernard McGuinness have almost a quota between them, but the transfers are not solid.

This could give independent candidate Niall Blaney, son of current TD Harry Blaney, the third seat with 20% of first-preference votes.
