A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition after becoming wedged in a railing in an accident in Co Cork.

A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition after becoming wedged in a railing in an accident in Co Cork.

It is understood the teenager was with friends in Kinsale, when he fell down a slope near Compass Quay around 7pm yesterday evening.

He is now in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital, after suffering respiratory problems.

Gardaí are investigating, but say they are treating it as an accident.
