Environmental group hits out at fee hike

The Friends of the Irish Environment group has expressed its opposition to a 25% hike in fees by An Bord Pleanala.

The group said the price increase would be a barrier to public participation in the decision-making process.

Ireland is the only EU member state which charges the public to lodge objections to planning decisions.
