Connections of shock Aintree winner Ogee are weighing up whether to run the six-year-old again before the end of the season.
The Renee Robeson-trained gelding was sent off at odds of 25-1 for the Grade One Sefton Novices’ Hurdle on Merseyside, denting some big reputations to come home half a length clear.
Robeson is considering whether to send her stable star across the Irish Sea to Punchestown or to Haydock early next month.
“I would like to run him again if the opportunity presents,” said Robeson.
“Punchestown has been mooted, but it depends what else is entered and it might be chucking him in at the deep end a bit.
“There’s also a race at Haydock early in May.”
Robeson is still getting over the surprise of Ogee’s recent Grade One success and branded the outcome “a miracle”.
“The horse was so tough and brave and really deserved a race like that,” added the Bedfordshire handler.
“It was also great for Jimmy (McCarthy, jockey) and for the yard because we’ve only got 15 horses.”
