Hollywood heartthrob Matt Damon is going undercover for his next movie role.
The actor will star as a mole in a film adaptation of The Informant for director Steven Soderbergh and Warner Brothers Pictures.
Variety reports that Warner Brothers bought feature rights to the book The Informant by New York Times investigative reporter Kurt Eichenwald in a six-figure deal last year.
Filming will start once Soderbergh finishes directing Ocean’s Twelve starring George Clooney.
The Informant centres around the story of Mark Whitacre, a high-level mole at the company Archer Daniels Midland.
Whitacre wore an FBI wire for more than two years to uncover a major price-fixing scam with ADM’s Japanese competitors that brought the company millions of dollars in profit.
ADM pleaded guilty in 1996 and paid a multi-million pound fine.
