A government-commissioned report on the motor insurance industry is due out today.

The Motor Insurance Advisory Board report is expected to show that premiums for young male drivers in the 21-24 age group are not reflective of their claim costs.

The president of the National Youth Council of Ireland, James Doorley, welcomed the report's publication but said it should have been done sooner.
