Varadkar helped at medical emergency on visit with ambulance service
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar joined ambulance service personnel on a "first responder" team that treated an ill man who collapsed at an event in Dublin yesterday.
Speaking on this morning's RTE Radio One's Marian Finucane show, the Minister said he had been out with the National Ambulance Service for the evening to see their work at first hand.

Mr Varadkar said he hadn't intended the visit to be publicised and complimented the Finucane show researcher for discovering his involvement in the incident.
A spokesman for the Minister said it was a private visit and that he spent about three hours with the service.
A report in the Irish Times quotes one of those present at the medical emergency at Edmonstown Golf Club in Rathfarnham as saying that one of the two men who arrived ahead of the ambulance crew looked “familiar”.
“The two guys got out carrying all the gear. They were both down on their knees over the patient, putting on an oxygen mask and working on him. Then I realised one of them was the Minister for Health," the person is quoted as saying.
