Unions and management meet to discuss future of Kildare chilling plant

SIPTU is due to meet with management of the Kildare Chilling Company later today to discuss the future of about 350 employees following a devastating blaze at the firm.

There is serious concern for the job security of the workers after the fire which broke out on Friday afternoon at the plant.

The company is one of Kildare town's main employers.

The fire is thought to have caused extensive damage, if not completely destroyed at least two of the three production lines at the factory
