The Government is emphatically denying that aid to Nigeria is dependent on the signing of a repatriation agreement for asylum seekers.

The Government is emphatically denying that aid to Nigeria is dependent on the signing of a repatriation agreement for asylum seekers.

Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Liz O'Donnell is rejecting allegations that Ireland will only provide over £8m to Nigeria if it signs the forthcoming agreement.

She says all aid for Nigeria is channelled through NGOs and charity groups and not through the Nigerian government.
