The arrested man, in his early 20's, remains in custody and is due in court tomorrow morning - an 18 year old man was earlier charged in connection with the incidents.

The first attack happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday, when a man in his mid 20s was stabbed in the face and side by a group on Fleet Street.

A short time later, another man in his early 30s was assaulted by two men outside a nightclub on Cope Street - where he was stabbed in the face and stomach.

A third man arrested in connection with the attacks remains in garda custody at Pearse St Garda Station.
