A post-mortem examination on the body of a seven-week-old baby girl who died yesterday afternoon at Sligo General Hospital concluded this evening.

A post-mortem examination on the body of a seven-week-old baby girl who died yesterday afternoon at Sligo General Hospital concluded this evening.

No other details were immediately released at this time, but it was confirmed by gardaí that further tests are to be carried out over the next number of weeks by the Office of the State Pathologist.

The infant was taken to Sligo General Hospital by her parents on Saturday morning with suspected head injuries.
