Dublin City manager Roddy Collins will hand débuts to four new signings in tonight's match with eircom League relegation rivals Derry City at Tolka Park.
Having signed midfielder Mark Kenny from Shamrock Rovers earlier in the week, the Vikings have added a trio of defenders to their ranks with the new quartet expected to be on duty tonight as the bottom club bid to bridge an eight-point gap between themselves and Longford Town, with Derry City another point ahead of the midlanders.
Former Celtic trainee Scott Friel has joined after a spell with Partick Thistle. Ronny Henry was released by Tottenham at the end of last season and former Republic of Ireland U21 Danny Boxall has returned to Ireland after playing with Bristol Rovers last term.
"I'm bringing in four quality players and I know they will make an instant impression for the club," Collins said.
"They've all played at a higher level than eircom League and I know they are going to do an excellent job for us. They are all quality players and they know what is expected of them and I know they will deliver for us."
At least one of the defensive changes from the 2-1 defeat to St Patrick’s Athletic a fortnight ago is enforced, with Derek Griffin suffering a knee injury.
The visitors, meanwhile, will have to plan without defenders Paddy McLaughlin (knee) and Eddie McCallion (ankle) as well as midfielder Kevin Deery (back) and flu victim forward Gary Beckett.
