A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Dublin last night.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Dublin last night.

The woman, aged in her mid 40s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Mountjoy Garda Station.

Gardaí and Emergency Services were called to a house on Phibsboro Road shortly after 10.30pm.

A 36-year-old man was taken from the scene by ambulance to The Mater Hospital with apparent stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead today.

The scene is preserved pending a forensic and technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
