Openet telecom has announced that it is to reduce its overseas and Irish headcount by approximately 20 people in line with current market conditions as part of an overall cost reduction programme.

The move will affect under 10 people in Dublin.

The company, which currently employs 118, is a global provider of convergent mediation which enables global telecommunications companies to capture data and price internet and landline voice and data services according to value as well as time.

"The telecommunications market has been slow to recover so we are taking prudent action to bring our cost base in line with current revenue potential out there" commented Barry Murphy CEO of Openet.
