Thousands of families now fear being left out of pocket for pre paid holidays they booked with the agency.

The firm, which is based in Rosslare Harbour in Co Wexford, sent an email to its customers last night telling them it had ceased trading, and advising them to contact the relevant property owners or caretakers directly.

Deputy Dooley called on Tourism Minister Leo Varadkar to intervene, and said: "We need clarity from the company and the extent (of the problem), and the Government would need to put pressure on a company like this to come forward with appropriate information."
