Charlton goalkeeper Dean Kiely has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifier against Holland on September 1.
Kiely missed the final three months of last season because of a groin injury and only made his competitive Charlton comeback in their 2-1 home defeat by Everton on Saturday.
He is unlikely to start against the Dutch at Lansdowne Road but is determined to earn an international first-team spot in the future.
It is not such good news for midfielder Mark Kinsella who has not fully recovered from groin surgery and will not feature in manager Mick McCarthy's plans for this game.
McCarthy admitted he is concerned about the number of injuries affecting his squad and said: "With two more rounds of English club football to be played before I get the squad together on Monday, I certainly don't need any more injuries."
