There has been another "tiger" style robbery in the North with a shop worker forced to hand over money in Co Tyrone last night.

When he was released, the worker discovered that his family had not, as the robbers had alleged, been held to ransom.

Last week, a family was held hostage in west Belfast while a worker at Marks and Spencer in Lisburn was forced to hand over tens of thousands of pounds.

Now it's emerged that in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, on Sunday night a man was abducted as he returned home from work.

A man armed with a handgun forced him to return to his shop and told him his family was being held hostage.

He was forced to hand over a large amount of money in a sack from a supermarket in Dungannon nearby.

When he was released and returned home, he discovered no-one had been taken hostage after all.
