The Irish Red Cross has again appealed for funds to help the people of Darfur.

The appeal comes as Dublin man Willie Norton is embarking on a three-week mission to the area today.

He has been called on by the International Committee of the Red Cross to take over the distribution of aid to civilians in the war-stricken region of Sudan.
