The FBI worked with local authorities in the UK as part of an investigation into claims that Michael Jackson made a sexually explicit phone call to a 13-year-old boy, documents released today show.

In 1993, the bureau’s London office took part in an investigation after 28-year-old Terry George, from Leeds, told British newspapers he was contacted in 1978 by the singer and was encouraged to discuss sexual matters.

Hundreds of pages of previously undisclosed documents also detail other molestation investigations involving the King of Pop and a 1992 extortion threat against Jackson.

Jackson died on June 25 after collapsing in his rented mansion in Los Angeles.
