The Department of Transport has moved to refute claims that a report into a plane crash in Connemara has been banned from publication.

Airs Corps personnel, 32-year-old Captain Derek Furniss from Dublin and 22-year-old Cadet, David Jenins from Wexford were killed in the crash near Cornamona in October 2009.

The publication of the final report scheduled to take place on November 8 has been "deferred", not halted, due to an appeal.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has now ordered an internal review of the report's findings, after which, a decision on its publication will be made.

This is expected to happen in early January.
