The Cabinet has approved an information booklet on the Fiscal Compact treaty to be sent to every home in the country in the coming days.
The Coalition insists the document, which contains the wording of the treaty and an explanatory memorandum in both English and Irish, is information rather than advocating a yes vote.
Meanwhile, requests for the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore to take part in a televised leaders' debate on the referendum next Tuesday are "being considered", according to spokespeople for them both.
