ESB to build two new power plants

The ESB’s board of directors has approved the construction of two new peat-fuelled power stations in the midlands.

The ESB’s board of directors has approved the construction of two new peat-fuelled power stations in the midlands.

The company decided to grant €3.1m for the construction of the plants in Shannonbridge, Co Offaly and Lanesboro, Co Longford.

1,200 people will be employed during the construction phase of the project.
