The Education Minister Ruairi Quinn will today formally launch a new plan to crackdown on bullying in schools.

The Education Minister Ruairi Quinn will today formally launch a new plan to crackdown on bullying in schools.

The Action Plan on Bullying will require schools to keep a formal record of bullying incidents and to inform their boards of management.

Many schools already have a policy of recording complaints of bullying, but they are not officially required to do so.

The new government initiative will provide guidelines to schools for dealing with bullying complaints and will provide them with a bullying report template, which must be completed and kept on record.
