Police in the North believe dissident republicans planted a pipe bomb that exploded at the back of Strabane police station last night.

Police in the North believe dissident republicans planted a pipe bomb that exploded at the back of Strabane police station last night.

No-one was injured in the blast, but people had to leave their homes overnight.

Chief Inspector Phil Marks said it was lucky he was not beginning a murder inquiry.

Only a small minority, he said, did not want to move forward and they were increasingly being ostracised by everyone else.
