Upbeat McGrath waits on X-ray results

Jeremiah McGrath may have escaped with just bad bruising following a nasty incident at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The conditional jockey remains in Cheltenham General Hospital, where he is awaiting test results following his fall from Dave’s Dream in the Jenny Mould Memorial Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.

McGrath, celebrating his 21st birthday, was thrown from the saddle when the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding blundered at the fourth-last fence. He also appeared to be kicked by another horse when on the ground.

“Still in Cheltenham hospital. Waiting for scan and X-ray results. Hopefully it’s just all bad bruising. Thanks for all the best wishes,” McGrath said on his Twitter account.
