In form striker Kanu, keeper Tomasz Kuszczak and winger Jonathan Greening are also poised to return after being rested against the Red Devils.
Chris Kirkland is still not considered fit enough to challenge for his first team place, although he is back in training after recovering from a severely bruised kidney.
