Minister wants 16 and 17-year-olds out of independence vote

The Scottish Secretary wants 16- and 17-year-olds banned from voting in a referendum on independence.

The Scottish Secretary wants 16- and 17-year-olds banned from voting in a referendum on independence.

However, Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond, is keen for them to have a say.

Scottish Secretary Michael Moore has also repeated the UK Government's insistence on a straight yes or no question with no "devo-max" option.
