Planning body holds hearing into Dublin superdump plans

An Bord Pleanála is holding an oral hearing this morning into plans for a massive new landfill in north Co Dublin.

An Bord Pleanála is holding an oral hearing this morning into plans for a massive new landfill in north Co Dublin.

Fingal County Council is seeking permission to build the facility in Lusk, near Swords, but local residents are opposed to the move.

They say they fear it could contaminate local water sources and harm the €650m fresh fruit and vegetable industry in the area.
